Casavant Overlook was Summit’s first Winooski development, beginning the reimagination of Winooski’s Gateway District. The site required extensive stabilization and retention to nestle the 39-unit community between East Allen Street and the Casavant Nature Area.
Casavant Overlook consists of 39 rental apartments, including 27 affordable units and 12 market-rate units. The community represented Summit’s first all-electric heating and cooling building and was completed in 2019 ahead of schedule and on budget.
The building consists of thoughtful and spacious one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and offers available covered parking as well as shared exercise and other common spaces. The building is built to a high energy efficiency rating and with modern, high-quality finishes.
The project was funded with a combination of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and permanent debt. Summit Properties partnered with the Vermont Housing Finance Agency and construction partner the Dagesse Companies. Casavant Overlook is operated by Summit Properties to maintain quality of appearance and experience for all those that call the community home.
